I fancy the idea of a new Leica R10, with technology directly borrowed from the new Leica S2!!!!!

    the S looks impressive, indeed.

however, i thought i recalled reading earlier this year that herr kaufman had promised some sort of more affordable digital rangefinder at photokina – so where is it?

must admit that so far, i am disappointed in leica pricing as the m8 remains super high and the d-lux 4 now commands an even higher price premium over panny than d-lux3 did. if you add the accessories, you are near $1 thousand, for lumix lx-3 level photos! YIKES!

obviously, leica believes that there is no price elasticity at all among their user target. i don’t mind paying a premium, but this is ridiculous.

leica should reconsider pricing, as their strategy has not succeeded for them so far, if the recent WSJ article is to be believed.
