Why not a digital "Leica CL" (for M lenses) with the new "Micro Four Thirds" sensor?

They are there already, with the D-System Digilux 3. In fact, it is a great camera that is becoming long on the tooth, and it really needs a replacement sooner than later.

It has happened before that Leica launched a Lux camera before the equivalent Panasonic Lumix DMC arrived; it could be the case with a Digilux too, perhaps even a G-Lux or something.

Could be, I did read somewhere that Leica is not going into 4/3, but who knows?

I guess we're going to see replacements for 2006's V-Lux 1 and the Digilux 3, but as Panasonic don't currently have replacement models to hand over to Leica for the DMC-FZ50 or DMC-L1, this is going to be interesting! If you look at the current Panasonic line, the FZ28 would be the closest thing to the where the FZ50 left off and as for the L1, well that would be the new G1, wouldn't it?
