18,000 to 20,000 euros!? Rats. So much for my D-Lux 4 upgrade.

Leica better hurries now, or the competion will soon be reacting with a better spec system, which would bring Leica with their smaller financial mussels into trouble.
They now made the technical transition into an area with a lot shorter product life and a much harder competition.

I really hope this turns out to be very successful for the company after the R8/R9 DMR dead end and big R&D money sink.

The price for any amateur Leica with high hopes is steep though.
I for my self will stay with Nikon, as an affordable Leica digital camera with up to date specs of their competitors seems not to materialise.

The chatter among dealers is 15,000 euros for the body or body with kit.

My guess (and this is an educated guess) is: $19,995 for body, and $23,995 with the 70mm lens.
