I'm looking forward to getting this camera. I plan to use it at my nephews birthday party in the fall. I also plan to get some new snapshots of my dog and maybe new flower pictures as well. This S2 is going to look great in the trunk of my new Ferrari 458 Italia. I can't wait...

CS lenses have an integrated central shutter, most probably a leaf shutter. The rationale is that you can have flash synchronisation at much higher speeds than with the in-body focal plane shutter.

What's with the CS and non-CS lenses? What does "central shutter" mean? Does that mean the shutter is embedded into the lens? Why would you need that if the shutter is in the camera?

Too much for the body when one considers the longevity of digital bodies and the rapid technology changes of today. The lenses are reasonable by comparison but I was way off on the pricing - I actually thought the pricing would be opposite what it is - cheap body, pricey lenses.

The R10 may have turned out to be a better idea.

I'm sorry Ladies and Gents but that's too expensive unless they plan on selling just a few thousand world wide. At the rate the competition is putting out new models and considering the pace in which models become obsolete this is a huge product management pricing error. Moore's Law, my friends. They will only have one year or so of to make money before they will have to upgrade. Who, in their right minds, will spend $24K, the price of a brand new Toyota Prius, for a one year technical advantage? Oh, and I say this as a guy who will be buried with my black Leica MP. Looks like my first digital will be a 5D Mark II. I can drop 5 of them, with lens, in the Nile, Amazon or the Mississippi over the next 2 years for the price of one S2...body. Crazy.
