Leica M9 again

M9

I received another Leica M9 tip this time from Belgium: it seems that certain stores there were able to pre-order their shipments of Leica M9. The official date mentioned was again September 9th (09.09.09), the sensor will be 18.something MP and the price will be EUR 5,499 street price (around USD 7,800).

This information matches previous Leica M9 rumors (except the Canon sensor - I guess the sensor will be from Kodak).

With Leica it really doesn’t matter which price is which does it Eric :^)

will a sensor / electronics upgrade for the M8.2 be offered? (as promised with the much publicized M8 upgrade program).
If so, any clue about price?

I’ve really enjoyed these posts and have benefitted from them. I thought I would share that I just pre-ordered my M9 from a Leica store in Frankfurt, as I am planning to travel through Frankfurt shortly after September 9th. The price is $5,500 Euro, but you get a 19% VAT refund when you leave Europe. I will have with me a M6 during my trip, and will shoot some test images between the two (of course it is always tricky comparing a scanned Velvia image against a CCD image, but I’ll try my best)

And by the way it will be in Grey or Black. Grey not in the sense of traditional silver, might be more like the R9 grey.
