So Panasonic just announced this lens along with the new GF1:
LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm / F2.8 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S.
So does this pretty much confirm that there will be a Leica version of the GF1 on 9/9/09? In white perhaps?

hmm you could probably stick this on a E-P1 / G1 and manual focus with the LCD / EVF.

It won’t be the same on a 4/3 sensor… but hey, it’s an effective 150mm f/1.4 as far as DOF is concerned.

It’s not a 7,5mm lens… it’s a 7,5cm lens. Seven and a half centimeters = 75 millimeters (75mm). It’ll definitely be difficult to acquire accurate focus with this lens (especially at close range).

I’d love to get a chance to try though.

Not that critical, if you think about it. Remember that, for a 7,5mm lens, the aperture of f/0,85 does not offer such a shallow depth of field(perhaps, it might offer the same depth of field Ã s a 200mm Æ’/2).

I Just think it is simply too big for a Leitz….

It is certainly for low-light purpose, and you have to rely on the hyperfocal distance.

at f/.85 focusing would be critical, no? how is that possible with the lens blocking both rf windows?
