Is this the Leica R-mount solution?

Stefan Daniel (Leica Product Manager) said that “there will be a good solution that allows us to use our R-lenses on a digital body.” Today Panasonic announced the GF1 M4/3 camera and with it a R-mount adapter:

OK, so the X1 is a Pany GF1 with a red dot on it. $2000US price for the X1 then?

It could… be it shouldn’t be the “R solution”, since it’s just not satisfactory. Looking at my dear lenses through an EVF? Holly crap!
    Let’s hope for a Baby S2.

More likely imho will be an R adapter for use with the M9. It might have the electronics to control the R lenses!?

    This adaptor has no ROM.
Only attach to the Micro 3/4 camera..

    X-1 made in Germany.
    Not Panasonic OEM.

I fail to see how a 2x crop can be seen as a “Good solution” by the Leica execs… But an adapter for a FF-Leica M…? I’d buy THAT for a dollar.
