    Image 1 was shot at ISO 1600. Looks good to me. Softness is due to the shutter speed of 1/30 and the aperture was at f/2.8 so not a problem.

    I wonder why everyone’s smiling? :)

    We have Bill Gates in the 2nd image in the background with the white and black stripped shirt.

    Disappointing look to this images. It just looks like any camera, no Leica look in there. Certainly not worth the $1000000 premium.

    i was raised with my father’s Leicas and was always a great admirer of what you get with Leica’s fine optics.
    I’ve owened and worked with Canons, Hasselblads, Nikons and Linhofs.
    So looking at these images straight out of the X1, i have to admit that Leica and Rolex in Picture 3 go very well together:)

    2000 dollars for f2.8 with a fixed lens … this is ridiculous.

    Is this really a Rolex? Looks like a cheap junk. I didn’t know Rolex was into making LCD watches now.

    @Markus

    Why ridiculous? Is there any comparable camera outhere? I mean a real comparable camera in the class of aps-c compacts except of the Sigma DP? Not really. In one year things will change and competitors like Ricoh will come up with their solutions for expected $ 1000, a not so so good lens and the usual build quality you can get from a china made camera… ;-)

    Well, i do believe that there ARE cameras out there that have a similar image quality.
    As it is for the D-Lux4, better lens coating, different firmware than the Panasonic-is this really worth the much higher price?
    i could NOT REALLY see a difference imagewise between the DLux 4 and the Panasonic one.

    These can’t be used for IQ or camera evaluation. Just poorly shot snaps in incandenscent lighting.

    But I agree, 2,000USD for a fixed non zoom lens camera is just ridiculous. If they had launched a digital CL with M-mount at that price, well, that would interest me to use my Leitz glass. M9 is too much and, for that price, not sure IQ/sensor is state of art (and it should be, sorry folks).

    I must say I’m not impressed at all. I get much better aesthetics and color balance without even trying from my D Lux 4.
