I like how you push down on the X1 flash to release it . The top OLED on the S2 is very nice, small but nice. Is it me or does the S2 autofocus sound kinda loud?
The autofocus is loud. Quick but loud. But if that is the only thing that bothers you, and if you have already been shooting with the Hassie, then this is definitely a game changer for you if you can live with the slightly lower sync. If you’ve been shooting with the Nikon or Cannon DSLRs, then I would think the lower FPS may take some getting used to; in that trade you would essentially surrender the FPS for the higher resolution and resolve. But then again, if you are shooting studio lighting, your FPS is limited by your strobes anyway.
My portrait shots are environmental and I don’t shoot studio ad or fashion, so this camera wouldn’t be suitable for someone like me. It’s expensive for sure, but if you are someone who can benefit from this camera, I would think you’d spend almost that much for models, wardrobe, makeup, sets, location permits, for EACH shoot . . . (more if you hire the established models . . .)
BTW I was talking about the S2, obviously . . .
Damn, they beat me to it… Thats what I get for being out of town this weekend…
