Just some links/updates from the past few days:
- Amazon has M9 in stock, but for the price of $8,999 (from a third party). It seems that this reseller (Willoughby's) is willing to negotiate, so you may want to give them a call and negotiate.
- eBay has four M9s for sale - the prices vary from $7,300 - $9,000

I think there are some people trying to make big business with M9… What a shame!
I am in the waiting list of adorama. They still accept but only backorders.
A dealer in Beijing told me the spot price could be more than 80000 RMB, namely $ 11600!!!
That dpreview reader didn’t get the camera. The store made a mistake, and realized it before he picked up the camera.
Can you remind me the offocial stree price?
off-topic: what’s a good price for a second-hand M7?
Thanks for the lead to Willoughby’s. I now have a Steel Grey M9 shipping out today, with a new Summilux 21mm. They were willing to be very reasonable on the price with me (a couple of hundered dollars over list) since I also needed a lens. I’d rather of had a black version, but the grey looks nice too. If anyone wants to swap an unopened grey for an unopened black…
Glad I was able to help, enjoy!
I’ll post once I get it. I will say I worked with Nor at Willoughby’s and he was good to work with, if you don’t mind a little haggling. I’m curious how they have them so readily available.
I don’t think they are an authorized Leica dealer – as far as I know Leica doesn’t allow “price adjustments”.
I hope this does not impact the warranty…
Just checked, they are on the Leica website as an authorized dealer.
I think they will be in trouble.
Got the Grey M9 yesterday along with the Summilux 21mm. I checked in with Leica NJ to make sure everything was on the up and up, and it was. US Warranty, never registered and yes even shipped to Willoughby’s from Leica directly. I’m not sure how they got their hands on so many, but the transaction was easy and quick. Ordered 12/17 and it arrive 12/21.
