I updated my firmware on my M7 last week (Fuji Velvia), looks like a Kodak Tri X update coming in the near future too

What about an update for the M8?
If they give up on the older digital M’s already, I’d really not feel too comfortable about buying an M9 in the future.

ahh, that’s good news. more than i hoped for, really. if it truly does fix operation with my 28/2, then i’ll already be a happy camper–very glad to see that that specific lens is mentioned, i was afraid i’d made a very expensive mistake getting it. i am also glad to see that they made the vignette correction progressive and linked to iso–since you cannot remove it later, much better to err on the safe side on the raw processing.

and faster zooming, better preview is welcome bonus. ditto card compatibility and mac transfer–all of these affect me.

as for “free of charge”–yeah, i do feel like i’ve already paid, thank you very little. one wishes for some kind of tester’s rebate or something of that nature.

now, where’s that new 35 ‘lux?

Yes, I found that amusing too…. as if otherwise they will charge us for a firmware update! Well I’m quite happy about the viewing and formatting speeds. Lets hope they will continue with firmware updates in the future…free of charge :p
