Focus shift with the new Summi?? Come on…

I’m sorry, shooting rulers is just f*cked up if you ask me.

    Really… it’s just wanking to f*cking numbers.

In my book, if you need to shoot a ruler with your lens just to have an argument why your photos suck, you deserve a big nice BITCHSLAP.

    :)

I cant understand why bother to post something Steve H*ff says. The way he exaggerate things in his words just make me sick. He always tell you the “new” lens he got in his review is “THE” best and he will “NEVER” sell his copy. And he also tell you what to buy and where to buy it. Then after a week or two, you will see his lens for sale on one of the forum. Frankly, this guy is just another Ken Rock*ell and even worst. Just my two cents

S… is trying to make business with its website, as many guys these days… No better, no worst.

I’m in Hong Kong for one month and I was disappointed with the Leica store : so small… Just an M9 and binoculars in the showcase. Maybe M9 and S2 inside ? I didn’t ask.

Pascal, which Leica store in HK did you go to? I was at the Times Square store a week ago, the shop wasn’t huge, but they were relatively well stocked.

I would not call Steve’s writings reviews – they are far from it. He is in bed with Leica and of course he will like everything he gets from them.

Unfortunately, I’m in agreement with Ken. Steve’s writings were interesting, but sadly he’s lost, or given up, all credibility by claiming everything is the best thing since sliced bread.

No longer can his judgement be trusted as a discerning opinion, it’s just great, whatever it is. Whilst I accept his need to be enthusiastic to get the website paying his mortgage, I can’t see how anyone not seeing his personal gear swopping syndrome as a weakness.

Be interesting to read his thoughts on the Fuji 667 which has just been slated by one reviewer.

His site is entertaining though and his long suffering son and dear wife are very obliging. I wish him luck and do hope he sticks with something, anything.

Anonymous – don’t think he does write what they want to hear. They want an opinion, good; bad; indifferent. He’s writing through rose-tinted goggles. Nobody wants that.

Is the Leica market rewarding for him – do we buy from B&H; is there enough ‘opinion’ out there already ?

one must be stupid to buy a product based on his reviews – there is a big conflict of interests here: he gets stuff for free from Leica and B&H, how can he give a bad review? If he cannot get lenses to review, he cannot run his site – a magic cyrcle.
At least Ken Rockwell is entertaining to read.

Hi Andrew, not Times Square, IFC. I thought it was the new and only one in HK.
Well, I have planned to give a look to Times Square the next time I’ll go to Causeway Bay, so I’ll look for the Leica Store.
