One lucky Leica M8 owner got his camera back from a factory repair with a surprise - firmware version 2.005. The shutter fault is one of the expected fixes.
Previous posts indicated that the next Leica M8 firmware was being tested. Expect the official release very soon, maybe even next week.
A new firmware for Leica M9 is also expected.
Thanks to Richard from Warsaw for the screenshot.

So, any info on what’s new?
Yes. It does seem a bit skeptical being that nothing “about” the new firmware is being reported… Leica Rumors?
I wish they would add manual lens selection and a 50 ISO setting. Not gonna happen though.
I wish every camera had a 50 ISO setting, even a 25.
I hope having a far accurate Whitebalance
There has been a few posts of a user at LUF, who has had his camera in service and got it back with 2.005.
He informed, that he did not find changes in the menu after the update.
No proofs displayed in the thread.
We will see, what a new FW update brings. My camera works fine with or without 2.005 though
So, maybe now that the mannschaft is kicked out of the tournament leica has the time to put 2.005 on their website.
