Leica M9 Titanium will have a new way to show the frame lines. Leica probably will implement some kind of a LED viewfinder illumination for better view of the frame lines in a dark environment.

Why would Leica introduce major new features like this only for a limited edition?
Leica might be preparing for the future, a limited edition M9 as a teaser for what is to come from the M10.
Well I said it elsewhere, and as Joe mentioned, why would they introduce a new feature in a special edition?
Then throw in what all the people waiting for their M9 delivery are going to think if there is a new feature/M9 feature change that is not on the camera they are waiting for. I’d be more than a little upset, and it’s a dangerous marketing move from Leica to do with outstanding orders.
I have to give Leica more credit than that – for now at least.
he could also just be talking about the frameline preview lever.
They might be getting the M9.2 ready, and introduce some (minor) novelties via a special edition.
I’d bet that the sapphire crystal cover for the LCD is also included. They’ll snatch a small fortune for the Titanium and then will release the M9.2, also for a small premium, leaving early adopters of the M9 frustrated or paying for an upgrade.
I know the feeling because I own an M8.2 that I bought on the illusion that the endless (obsolescence-proof) upgrade would over time even cover sensor upgrades.
Guess what, it didn’t…
I am skipping the M9 and will consider the M10 only if it has some type of focus acquisition confirmation (or indeed AF support, even at the expense of new lenses) and the S2 imaging processor. BTW, Fuji’s new X100, introduced today, shows Leica a thing or two about merging tradition and innovation
You are absolutely correct for waiting. The true value in the M design was it’s use for film, the digital age product/tech life-cycle is still WAY too short, Leica has had to bank it’s ‘return’ to profitability with what has been their strongest product – the M.
But it’s a big mistake for them to keep doing that with a traditional style – they’ve brought it as far as I think they should, a FF sensor that takes great images. But as noted, Fuji has shown what the future can be like which is very similar to what Leica has hinted towards. I wouldn’t buy any Leica that can use M lenses (unless you are happy with the M9 or want a film M) until they show a new type of camera as they have mentioned.
Technically they should put the M9 to bed; leave it as it is, keep producing it and steer towards the future with innovation as Fuji has shown is possible in a new camera.
leica should learn from fuji viewfinder..
hahahha
They might put something like that in a limited edition because it would drive the pricepoint of the “regular” M9 too high. It might be part of an a-la-carte type of program.
