Zeiss Ikon 85mm f/2.0 T* ZM Sonnar lens (M-mount) to be discontinued?

The Zeiss Ikon 85mm f/2.0 T* ZM Sonnar lens is no longer listed on zeiss.com website:

The only 85mm lens in their product line remains the Zeiss Ikon 85mm f/4 Tele-Tessar T* ZM lens.

Oh crap. Wonder why this move? Seems a bit odd to me unless a new version in the works perhaps? Perhaps a 1.4 instead? … ooooooooh… that could be nice.

That sucks, great lense, glad I already have one.

I wrote an email to Zeiss Germany, and they replied that the lens is currently not available. Wow! I didn’t notice that! So no official statement it seems.

I guess it’s really discontinued then, thanks.

I love the fact that the shot you are using for this article is the one I shot for Adorama. Great to see one of my shots used like this.

I thought those are official press release images from Zeiss. Does Adorama take its own images for all products?

Yes, We currently just use the press photos for holder until we shoot them.
