Leica D Lux 5 Uniform Experiment limited edition camera

After the RedBull version, I believe this is the second Leica D-Lux 5 limited edition. Only 200 pieces of this Uniform Experiment LE camera will be produced. Sales will start on May 11, 2011. A leather case is included in the price (¥120,000 | $1,480).

People are such idiots. They’ll pay more so that they have the “privilege” of advertising some clothing line that features pimply-faced kids? They should be charging less, not more – it turns us into walking advertisements.

Nothing like over pricing a disposable camera by adding a name badge to it. No thanks. I have my complete set of Coca Cola glasses from McDonalds.

Is this what we have to look forward to in Leica’s digital future—expensive special editions of existing models. Will innovation stop now that Leica has a few digital models? Will Leica digital M models ever be the choice of professionals—-as Leica film cameras were—-or just expense ornaments for those who can afford them.
