Just waiting for my copy to arrive. It is an expensive book, but then again everything in the Leica world is kind of expensive.

Adam, this is the most comprehensive Leica book I’ve seen so far – it’s 600 pages. You will be able to get your money back if you decide to sell it :)

    1,000 copies?

Will there be a second edition?

Maiko, this is actually the second edition. Not sure if Mr. Puts will print more copies – probably not since this was a “limited edition”

Strange… I would expect a limited edition Leica book to be bonded in fake ostrich testicle leather ;-)

Sorry, I meant a second print of this edition. Sure, it is clever to bring a limited edition, which is probably wrapped air tight, of such a book. But what about the people which will actually read this book?

Was there a second print of the 1st edition?

This isn’t about money. I am sure that the printing cost was very close to the amount he charged. I think the limiting factor is effort. He is basically self-published, and it is a lot of work to get the actual books all together and ship them all over the world.

There may be a PDF available in the future, but since only a fraction of a percent of people sent him money for his 1st edition work in pdf, I’m sure he won’t be in much of a hurry to do it.

I am suprised by the impressive number of typo/grammar/syntax errors in my copy.
    Does anyone feel the same?

Just reading about this book….what is about overall ? all the leica lenses ?
Would it be something similar to the “Eyes of EOS – EF Lens Work” by Canon in the leica world ?

    Thanks

It’s pretty much all about Leica – history, details about products, many illustrations.
