Looks like both are sold. I saw that BH Photo has a black one in stock.
There is 1 black and 1 steel grey in stock @ Broadway cameras in Richmond, BC,
Canada
This was actually for sale by the Amazon affiliate Willoughby’s, not Amazon proper. Odd that Amazon changed the product name to Leica 010716. My order with Amazon has an expected arrival date of 7/14 – 7/20
BH Photo has a black one in stock now.
At the time of publishing this post B&H did not have them in stock, they must have just gotten them.
The one at B&H has also been sold.
Got mine last week already!!!
not that I wish anyone to be jealous… well, maybe a little bit yes…
;-p
Well I just got my copy of the new 21mm f/3.4 ASPH, so there ;P
We’ll I’m jealous. Mission accomplished! I still like my MP better…. but…. the M9-P definitely keeps calling me…. as my wallet trembles in fear!

This is just calling my name but already getting a black one.
Some one please buy this before I do something stupid and get both colors!!
I want to buy this, but I’ve never bought anything from these guys before. I’m not sure I want to start with an $8K camera. Maybe start with a battery and work up from there….
Well if you want it soon better grab it when you can
Germans go on long vacation in August so after this initial lot we probably won’t see any more inventory until the fall. LR Admin is that what’s you’ve noticed too? (2009 was the exception, of course).
I am not sure if Leica completely closes their production lines during the Summer or they just work at reduced production output. I know that they do close for few weeks around Christmas.
“Leica also revealed that it has already sold more than 1500 M9-P cameras, which was announced yesterday. “We have another 1500 being produced now,” says Schopf.
Asked whether Leica ever considered outsourcing the production of its cameras to Asia, Schopf says that the German company had been approached several times about this, but had always declined. “We have specialised people [working on our cameras],” he says. “When they look inside a lens, they know what corrections are needed right away. That’s the result of 25 years of experience for our people. It’s impossible to teach people about that in six months. It would take at least four or five years, and in that time, what products do you release?”"
