The new Leica M spotted in Malaysia

The new Leica M (type 240) was spotted at a photo exhibition last night (January 18th) at the Leica Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It's probably a beta version being tested by a local photographer.

B&H still lists the new M rangefinder as available for shipping on February 28th. The first official sample images should be released at the end of January.

Update: the photographer on the picture is Ming Thein and those images are probably taken with the new M.

This must be from the same event.

    Show off! LOL

Oh yeah, this is the guy who posted a shining review of the Leica M + 50/2 Aspherical vs the Nikon D800 + 45/2.8 AI-P.

And then went on to claim that he is not related to Leica whatsoever……Dohhh…give me a break….Zero credibility for a Pay as you Talk photographer.

Looks like Ming Thein, he’s based in KL, Malaysia, and he’s actually a decent photographer as well.

  • Tulip Frenzy

Yes, that’s him. Look for the posting of good M 240 images on his site soon.

MT is actually a very excellent photographer…I look forward to seeing what he can do with the new M.
