This is a once in a generation opportunity to buy the complete set of tools, manuals and spare parts from a now retired Factory Authorized Leica service Agent.
This collection would suit a dedicated Leica service business, an existing camera service business that would like to expand to include service on Leica film cameras, any business that sells classic vintage leica cameras or even a collector or museum dedicated to Leica – the worlds finest and most historically significant camera brand.
European Camera Service was the Factory Authorized Leica service agent for ALL OF AUSTRALIA during the 1990s. The business was established in 1991 when Leica camera division separated from Wild Leitz group. The technican, Jorg Heumuller, was trained in Wetzlar and sent to Australia to establish a new fully Leica camera dedicated service centre to perform all factory service work including warranty jobs and routine service and repairs. As Leica’s only official service centre in Australia the business was equipped with a full range of current Leica special tools essential for working on Leica cameras of the period without damaging or marking the cameras. The factory valuation for the specialized tools, equipment and spare parts at the time was equivalent to in excess of US$500,000 today once adjusted for inflation. And of course many of these items have now become even more valuable as they are no longer being made even for Leica, not to mention being historically important and collectible. These tools include, as per Images items which today are not even available to major country distributors!
