A while back? I think I got my M240 RRS plate over 3 years ago. The more relevant issue (especially for a Rumors site) is whether RRS will develop a new plate for the thinner M10. I called them this week and was told that they haven’t yet decided, but have received some requests.

  • yea, these have been out for years…I just sold mine.
What we need is an M10 version…but I was told they don’t plan on making one.

…I was very disappointed with my RRS baseplate/grip for my M240/M246. For once the finger grip of the Leica factory product is superior and much more comfortable than the RRS offering. It is very difficult to wrap one’s fingers around the RRS grip and to simultaneously press the magnification button – much easier to do so with Leica’s own grip. Granted the RRS plate is (supposed to be) compatible with Arca Swiss clamps – but even here they fall short – it would not have taken too much effort for RRS to engineer the grooved plate more accurately and with a finer tolerance – as it is, I have to constantly re-adjust the Arca clamp when changing from the genuine arca swiss plate to the RRS plate. No more RRS for me, thank you.
