I just received an answer to my question from two days ago - soon you will able to use your Leica M lenses on the upcoming Fuji X-Pro 1 mirrorless camera. Fuji will announce their own M-mount adapter for the X-Pro 1. The camera will also have two optical magnification options: x0.37 for wider lenses and x0.60 for other lenses.

Will someone produce a Leica M-mount lens adapter for the Fuji X-PRO 1 mirrorless camera?

The mirrorless Fuji X-PPO 1 camera leaked on Wells Fargo's website and Responses Photo magazine. It will be interesting to see if a third party company will produce a Leica M-mount lens adapter for the X-PPO 1. Does anyone see a technical reason why such adapter is not feasible?

Gizmon iCA: a Leica inspired case for iPhone 4/4s

The Japanese company Adplus (gizmon.com) went a step further than the Leica iPhone stickers and designed a real Leica screw mount inspired case for iPhone 4/4s (similar to this Leica i9 concept). New eyepiece for Leica M users who suffer from astigmatism

There is a new solution form Walter RX Eyepiece for rangefinder cameras users who suffer from astigmatism:

This is an ingenious little device that solves two big problems. Your optical deficiency, and astigmatism. Now, using this device, you are able to put your eye up close to the eyepiece, allowing you to see the full frames in the finder and in the case of the Leica M9 or M8, you can clearly also see the illumination arrows indicating the exposure. Next Fuji camera: a baby M9?

Two days ago Fujifilm announced their plans for a new mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses. The new X system camera will be a "premium" camera" with “resolution and low noise that will surpass the 35mm full size sensor”. There were some speculations that Fuji may actually use Leica's M mount for their upcoming mirrorless camera (FYI: Fuji did produce Leica L39 mount lenses in the past).

The Leica M mount design is currently in the public domain and is no longer protected by any patents (the term of a patent is typically 20 years):

Two limited edition ‘Paul Smith for Leica’ leather cases for Leica D-Lux 5 digital camera to be available for Christmas 2011:

Leica M to E mount Helicoid adapter

Update: this adapter is now in production and is available for sale on eBay.

A group of Taiwanese camera-mount-modifying-enthusiasts created a M adapter for Sony NEX E-mount cameras with a build-in focus helicoid that could turn a Leica M lens into a macro lens. "The Helicoid" allows you to further close focus than your normal M mount lens could:

50mm with minimum focus distance of 1m was able to focus at 0.43m
50mm with minimum focus distance of 0.75m was able to focus at 0.38m
75mm with minimum focus distance 1.2m was able to focus at 0.73m
90mm with minimum focus distance 1m was able to focus at 0.73m

Several sample images taken with different lenses are available in the same thread - in one case they managed to get a 15mm 2.8 zm lens to focus on a subject literally inside the lens hood. The adapter is in pre-production stage and should be available for sell in June.
