Leica Camera is an official partner of the St. Moritz Art Masters 2012

  

Solms, Germany (ots) – St. Moritz Art Masters is a unique and exclusive art and cultural festival. Leica and is also an official partner and is involved in photography in various fields: from exhibitions on photography workshops and to the promotion of young photographers who present during the St. Moritz Art Masters their shots.

St. Moritz Art Masters takes place from 24 August to 2 September for the fifth time in various places in the Engadine, will offer visitors high-quality outdoor installations, photography and exhibitions by internationally renowned artists.

Leica shows this year at the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains (St. Moritz) portraits of musicians that were taken during this year’s Montreux Jazz Festival by Leica photographer Michael Agel. All pictures were taken in May this year with the featured Leica M monochrome. Michael Agel is also a portrait during the festival participating artists, in cooperation with the organizers issued as “Artist Book”. Another highlight will be the presentation of an outdoor exhibition at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz. The resulting photographs are under the theme “Blow up the Engadin” part of this year’s St. Moritz Art Masters.

In addition to exhibitions, Leica enables all guests and participating artists have the exclusive use of a Leica camera or a Leica binoculars. In the area of the exhibition at the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains, guests can register during the festival for a time-limited use.

Another part of the commitment by Leica is to support a two-day photography workshops with the renowned photographer Steve McCurry, Amedeo M. Turello and Jock Sturges. The workshop takes place on 31 August and 1 September at the Hotel Nira Alpina (Silvaplana) instead. For this, Leica photographers and participants, the Leica S-System and Leica M9 cameras.
