New Leica Summicron-C cinema prime lenses to be announced at NAB

At the 2013 NAB show in Las Vegas Leica will announce a new line of Summicron-C cinema prime lenses. After the Summilux-C series, the new Summicron-C lenses will offer lower priced solution for ARRI-PL mount cameras. The new lenses will have the same size, diameter and (nearly) the same weight, priced at 17,000$ (in comparison to the 25,000$ price tag for the Summilux-C lenses). The new Summicron-C cinema prime lenses (T-Stop of 2.0 instead of the 1.4 of the Summilux) are expected to be pretty contrasty, warmer than the Zeiss Ultra Primes, compact as Zeiss HS and incredibly sharp wide open.

FDTimes has some “spy shots” of the pre-production 25mm and 75mm Leica Summicron–C lenses (see images above).
