Jun 19, 2013 -Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur has launched an interactive photography package in partnership with Leica.
Guests of the hotel will be able to capture the sights of Kuala Lumpur and experience the city through a different perspective with Leica Store Malaysia’s appointed professional photographer who will share his photography skills throughout a chauffer-driven excursion that encompasses the city’s cultural and iconic sites.
Sites include the Petronas Twin Towers – the tallest twin towers in the world, Kuala Lumpur Railway Station – established since 1910, The National Mosque – featuring a 73-metre-high minaret and a 16-pointed star concrete main roof and the Batik demonstration centre – one of Malaysia’s most prestigious handicraft centres.
Guests can gain valuable experience in the skills of photography in terms of colour, composition, lighting, texture, patterns and contrasts, and will be able to ‘take home’ a piece of Kuala Lumpur in the form of photographic memories.
Other photographic opportunities for guests to explore include views from the sky bridge that connects the iconic 88-storey twin towers, or an evening stroll through the tree-lined paths and flowering gardens of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park, or the nightly entertainment of the KLCC Lake Symphony Fountain at the Esplanade KLCC at 8, 9 and 10pm.
Unfortunately, while the specialist photography tips and advice are included in the promotion, guests won’t be able to use Leica’s latest and greatest – or even their entry level models, instead guests need to bring their own camera equipment. A missed opportunity by Leica, perhaps.
With a minimum of two consecutive nights’ stay, the package includes:
