This Briggs Automotive Company Mono car comes with a free Leica T camera

This is the report I received from a reader who recently attended the Briggs Automotive Company’s (BAC) Mono sports car launch in Hong Kong:

Last week I attended Briggs Automotive Company’s (BAC) Mono sports car local launch here in HK, and guess what? The newly-established local dealer, BAC Hong Kong, has apparently commissioned Leica to make ten copies of the Leica T (Typ701) to the ten early-bird buyers of the said sports vehicle (aka “pure driving machine”). According to the PR responsible for both BAC/BACHK and Leica’s HK dealer, this Leica T is a complimentary incentive to each of such buyers at no extra charge. However I’m not informed of the exact set contents, whether it comes with just the camera body (highly unlikely), or with a few L-mount lenses and/or other accessories bundled. The BAC Leica T is no different to the standard one, except for the additional engravings around the body (grip, top panel). The other thing is that the black-colored Leica T on my picture is labeled “1 of 10” but I’m not sure if those cameras are specifically serialized, ie. “2 of 10” “3 of 10” etc.

BTW the vehicle costs from GBP170k (~US$257k). Post-taxed price here is around HK$4M (US$516k). In addition to UK availability it is being exported to a few other regions, including HK, Taiwan, Japan (later in the timeline), and most importantly, the US. There are ten quotas of  the BAC Mono vehicle for the HK domestic market (HKDM) and already eight have been reserved (or sold, whichever happens first).
