Leica’s 36th annual Oskar Barnack Awards to be held in Germany, September 28th



LEICA CAMERA HONORS PHOTOGRAPHY’S BEST AND BRIGHTEST AT 36TH ANNUAL LEICA OSKAR BARNACK AWARDS

WHAT: The prestigious Leica Oskar Barnack Awards, celebrating professional photographers and up-and-coming talent, will be held in Berlin, Germany this year after several years abroad. This year’s winners will be honored in an official ceremony at St. Elisabeth-Kirche.

The winner of the competition’s main category will receive a cash prize of €25,000, as well as their own Leica M-System camera and lens, valued at an additional €10,000. The cash value prize for this year’s ‘Newcomer Award’ will be doubled from previous years to €10,000, and the winner will also receive a Leica M rangefinder camera and lens. Finally, ten additional photographers will be recognized among the year’s best photographers and awarded cash prizes of €2,500 each. Every finalist’s portfolio will be featured on the official website and published in a special issue of Leica Fotografie International Magazine.
