Leica M10 to M10-P upgrade program

In August 2018 I reported that Leica Camera is rumored to offer a new M10 to M10-P upgrade program (current M10 owners can add the new M10-P features – also see this comparison). I already got multiple reports that such a program does exist and the first upgrade orders are already in. The upgrade offer will be for the silent shutter, touchscreen functionality, spirit level and the top cover plate with the Leica logo. Two different Leica M10-P upgrade packages are available:

Full upgrade (2900,- € incl. 19 % VAT)

  • silent shutter
  • top cover plate with Leica logo
  • touchscreen functionality
  • spirit level
  • additional 12 months warranty

Partial upgrade (1300,- € incl. 19 % VAT)

  • top cover plate with Leica logo
  • touchscreen functionality
  • spirit level
  • additional 12 months warranty

The Leica M10-P upgrade can only be done in a package (full or partial) – upgrades cannot be picked. The process takes approximately 6 weeks to complete.

I am receiving conflicting reports on whether the upgrade is available in the US and what exactly the US pricing is.

Please note that this is not official information coming from Leica.

Additional Leica M10-P coverage can be found here.
