Leica officially reported that M9 CCD sensors have been discontinued and are no longer in production. As a result, defective sensors from the corrosion issue can no longer be replaced. Here is the full text:
The production of the CCD sensors for the Leica M9 models has been discontinued. Therefore, subsequent deliveries are no longer possible and defective sensors cannot be replaced. Until further notice, all other repairs on the M9 model generation can still be carried out.
In place of the sensor exchange we are offering new attractive conditions to our customers to trade in their camera with a defective sensor and purchase a current Leica camera model.
For all above mentioned camera models that are affected by corrosion of the CCD sensor, we are offering the following upgrade options:

UPGRADE FROM M9-P
UPGRADE FROM M9 MONOCHROM
*We kindly inform you that the Leica M10 is only available in black chrome.
For some models the availability is limited or products are backlogged which can result in delays. Our Customer Care will inform you regarding the expected lead time.
With regard to the above, we would like to remind you that the replacement of CCD sensors and the upgrade offers apply only to cameras affected by this concrete problem, and only to the models of the Leica M-System we have listed.
