With this year’s “Experience Days”, the Leica Store invites not only customers but also photography enthusiasts from all over Germany to spend a weekend vacation in their home country and in the name of photography. On August 4th and 5th we are presenting a varied program: with the opening of the exhibition of Norbert Rosing’s “Meine Wilderness”, exciting lectures, a special hotel offer and much more.

Wetzlar, 11. Juli 2023 Mit den diesjährigen „Experience Days“ lädt der Leitz-Park in Wetzlar Fotografiebegeisterte erneut dazu ein, ein Wochenende im Zeichen der Fotografie zu verbringen. Am 4. und 5. August können sich Besucher*innen auf ein abwechslungsreiches Programm freuen: mit der Ausstellungseröffnung „Meine Wildnis“ von Norbert Rosing, spannenden Vorträgen und einem besonderen Hotel-Angebot.
Die Experience Days starten am Freitag (4. August) um 16 Uhr mit einer Tour durch die Leica Welt. Im Anschluss an die Tour widmet sich zunächst Leica Akademie Referent Olaf Wolf ausgewählten Fotografie-Themen und um 18.30 Uhr präsentiert der für seine außergewöhnlichen Landschafts- und Tieraufnahmen bekannte Fotograf Norbert Rosing einige Highlights der wichtigsten Stationen seines Lebenswerks – von den Regenwäldern Kubas bis in die Arktis. Beide Vorträge finden im Leica Fotostudio statt. Zum Abschluss des ersten Tages stehen die Leica Experten, darunter auch Peter Karbe, Managing Expert Optics bei der Leica Camera AG, und die beiden Referenten bei einem exklusiven Meet & Greet im Leica Store für Fragen zur Verfügung.
Am Samstag (5. August) gibt es für die Besucher und Besucherinnen erneut die Gelegenheit, um 9.30 Uhr an einer Tour durch die Leica Welt teilzunehmen. Zur Abrundung des Wochenendes findet um 11 Uhr die Vernissage der Ausstellung „Meine Wildnis“ statt. Fotograf Norbert Rosing hat eine große Jugendliebe wiederentdeckt: die Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie. Mit dem Blick und dem Gefühl für besondere Stimmungen sowie der Leica M Monochrom im Gepäck, hat er Augenblicke in der Natur gesucht, gesehen und großartig in Szene gesetzt. Ausgewählte Aufnahmen werden im besonderen Ambiente des Leitz-Park Waldes präsentiert. Durch den Verzicht auf Farbe, abstrahiert Rosing die wilde Schönheit von Wasser, Wald und Felsen und lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit des Betrachters auf Strukturen. Der Kontrast von Licht und Schatten ebenso wie der gekonnte Einsatz gestaltender Elemente fesseln die Aufmerksamkeit des Betrachters. Seine Bilder zeigen die mystische Schönheit von Felsen und Wald, Wasser und Eis. Es sind Bilder geheimnisvoller Orte, die Sehnsüchte wecken und in denen Sagen und Märchen lebendig werden.
Für 29,- Euro können Interessierte am kompletten Programm der beiden Tage teilnehmen und erhalten zudem freien Eintritt in das Ernst Leitz Museum.

Wetzlar, July 11, 2023 With this year’s “Experience Days”, the Leitz Park in Wetzlar is once again inviting photography enthusiasts to spend a weekend dedicated to photography. On August 4th and 5th, visitors can look forward to a varied program: with the opening of the exhibition “My Wilderness” by Norbert Rosing, exciting lectures and a special hotel offer.
The Experience Days start on Friday (4 August) at 4 p.m. with a tour of the Leica world. After the tour, Leica Academy speaker Olaf Wolf will first focus on selected photography topics and at 6.30 p.m. the photographer Norbert Rosing, known for his extraordinary landscape and animal photographs, will present some highlights of the most important stages of his life’s work – from the rainforests of Cuba to the Arctic . Both lectures will take place in the Leica photo studio. At the end of the first day, the Leica experts, including Peter Karbe, Managing Expert Optics at Leica Camera AG, and the two speakers will be available to answer questions at an exclusive meet & greet in the Leica Store.
On Saturday (5 August) at 9.30 a.m. visitors will once again have the opportunity to take part in a tour of the Leica world. To round off the weekend, the vernissage of the exhibition “My Wilderness” will take place at 11 a.m. Photographer Norbert Rosing has rediscovered a great love of his youth: black and white photography. With an eye and a feeling for special moods and the Leica M Monochrom in his luggage, he looked for moments in nature, saw them and staged them in a great way. Selected recordings are presented in the special ambience of the Leitz Park forest. By avoiding color, Rosing abstracts the wild beauty of water, forest and rocks and draws the viewer’s attention to structures. The contrast of light and shadow as well as the skilful use of design elements captivate the viewer’s attention. His pictures show the mystical beauty of rocks and forest, water and ice. They are images of mysterious places that arouse longing and in which legends and fairy tales come to life.
Interested parties can take part in the complete program for the two days for EUR 29 and also receive free entry to the Ernst Leitz Museum.
