Additional information:

Classic exterior

A classic design reminiscent of famous balls released in the 1970s (Type II was released in the early 1960s). All parts are made of metal with excellent texture and operation feel, providing the joy of owning a lens.

4 types of design variations

Type I, which has an aluminum exterior and is lightweight and has excellent mobility, is available in matte black paint and silver, while Type II, which is made of brass and has a solid feel, is available in black paint and silver finish.

Focusing lever with excellent operability

The focusing lever has an easy-to-grip shape that supports quick and reliable focusing.

Removable focusing knob (Type II)

Type II includes a focusing knob. It can be attached by removing the screw located in the recess where the finger rests on the focusing lever. You can intuitively understand the distance setting by touching the knob.

Modern lens design

In consideration of use with digital cameras, an optical design with 10 elements in 8 groups has been adopted to prevent color cast at the periphery of the screen. Maintains good image quality for both film and digital.

The shortest shooting distance is 0.5m

It is possible to focus up to 0.5m beyond the shortest shooting distance of 0.7m linked to the rangefinder. This is especially effective when shooting with a camera equipped with a live view function.

Bayonet hood sold separately

The lens hood LH-6 (sold separately) is made of aluminum and can be quickly attached and detached using a bayonet type.

Manual focus allows for reliable focusing

The use of an all-metal helicoid unit that has been machined and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces an appropriate amount of torque provides focusing with a smooth operating feel. This allows for delicate focus adjustments.

Bayonet VM mount

The lens mount uses a VM mount that is compatible with Leica M mount. Not only can it be used with a rangefinder-linked camera, but it also has an excellent design balance when attached to a mirrorless digital camera via a mount adapter.

Equipped with distance meter interlocking system

The high-precision rangefinder interlocking mechanism allows for precise focusing near the maximum aperture.

Full size image circle

It has a generous image circle that is compatible with the full 35mm format. It also has a very compact style compared to interchangeable lenses for single-lens reflex cameras.
