This rare four piece platinum Leica M6 “150 Jahre Optik” limited edition camera set can be yours for $150,000

Leica Store Lisse is selling this rare four-piece platinum Leica M6 “150 Jahre Optik” limited edition camera set for $150,000 on eBay. From the product description:

Offered to you is this extremely rare collection of 4 pieces (!!) of the Platinum LEICA M6’s “150 Jahre Optik” editions which are all coming in their original box. Finding one of these might already be an impossible task, let alone if you have got 4 of them together! These are by far the rarest Leica M6 editions Leica has ever produced and only seldom offered. The collection of these 4 editions will not be offered separately and these are the details about them :

These editions were produced for the “150th anniversary” of the foundation of Carls Kellner’s Optical Institute (forerunner of Leitz) in 1849. Therefore Leica Camera issued 150 platinum plated Leica M6 cameras in 1999. Each camera is engraved with one of the years from 1849 to 1999 together with “150 Jahre Optik” and the name and optical diagram of the matching lens of the set.

In total 5 different sets have been made:

The cameras are covered with grey snakeskin and are presented in a very nice polished nut-tree root wood box. Don’t mix this setup with the more common Leica M6 Platinum 150 Years Photography. All editions are in like new condition and complete with all the papers and certificates. Probably a once in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and once sold you’ll not be able to find these anymore, let alone for such a price.
