Another Leica price increase coming to the US? New trade deal reached with 15% tariff on imports from Europe

After the initial suggestion for a 30% tariff, the Trump administration reached a new deal yesterday that includes a 15% tariff on all products coming from Europe (the current tariff is 10%). Please note that tariffs are not calculated based on the final selling MSRP price in the US, but rather on the import invoice/declared value price.

Leica Camera AG primarily manufactures its current cameras and lenses at Wetzlar, Germany (such as the M, SL, and Q series). The secondary facility in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal, handles production for certain lenses and components (including select M-mount models like the Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH and Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH). The Leica D-Lux 8 is made in China.
