New Weekender Nelson S&M camera bag by Oberwerth

Oberwerth released a new Weekender Nelson S&M camera bag:

Oberwerth redesigns the Nelson S and Nelson M Weekenders, introducing a fully separated lower camera compartment with a full-perimeter zipper. The update represents a structural revision aimed at photographers who travel with dedicated camera systems. Both models now feature a clearly divided two-section layout. The upper compartment functions as a classic weekender, offering space for clothing, documents, and personal items. The lower section, accessible via an all-around zipper, houses a removable padded photo insert.

This layout allows photographers to access their camera gear quickly – for example at airport security – without opening or disturbing the main travel compartment. The modular insert accommodates Leica M, SL, and Q systems, including multiple lenses and accessories. The padding provides structured protection while maintaining a relatively slim overall profile. When camera equipment is not required, the insert can be removed entirely, and the lower compartment converts into additional storage space.

The Nelson S is designed for short trips of one to two days, while the Nelson M offers increased capacity for longer stays and additional gear.

Both bags are crafted from Oberwerth’s full-grain Casual leather, sourced from a Leather Working Group (LWG) Gold-rated tannery, and feature precision stitching and metal hardware consistent with the brand’s understated design approach. For Leica users seeking a discreet travel solution with dedicated camera separation, the redesigned Nelson S and M provide a structured alternative to traditional camera luggage.
