Putting all the pieces together: Leica @ Photokina 2008
After the Noctilux lens rumor, I went back to my “rumors archive” and came across this post in
dpreview (dated July 17, 2008):
“The M9 will come next year with FF chip. Photokina will bring a Noctilux 0.95 and a compact Leica “Allah” CM/Cl.
They also plan to ride the M8 $1750 upgrade train until doomsday because it’s money in their bank ….!”
It all makes sense so far. This is what we have so far:
- Noctilux 0.95 plus 3 additional lenses
- Leica M8.2 – only an upgrade to M8 (not FF)
- M9 will be full frame, but it will not be release during Photokina 2008 (sensor by Panasonic?)
- Leica D Lux-4 coming @ Photokina (scroll down for specs). Leica C Lux-3 should be release as well
- Leica official announcement on September 15th, 2008
Now all we have to do is wait.
