In a LeicaRumors post from March I covered several different half cases for the Leica M10 camera and a few weeks later I was contacted by Kenji Leather to try their latest Leica M10 leather case in a military camouflage dark blue color. Here is my quick hands-on:
The case attaches to the camera body with two clips on both sides and an additional screw on the bottom:
On the back the case has cutouts for the three buttons and the joystick:
There is a big Kenji logo at the bottom of the case:
You can use the latest Kenji leather cases for Leica M10 with or without the camera’s base plate – the bottom of the case has a magnetic door opening where you can quickly access the battery and memory card:
The case is cut out for easy access to the front M10 button (with and without the base plate):
This Kenji half case also provides a small built-in grip – when combined with the thumb rest, it helps for a better grip of the camera:
The strap opening on both sides is big enough to accommodate pretty much any camera strap:
The Kenji M10 cases are specially cut on the back in order to accommodate a ThumbsUp or the original Leica thumb support:
The half case comes with a custom made tripod screw that also allows you to mount a tripod directly onto your half case:
When you use the case with the bottom plate of the M10 camera is removed, you will not get an error message “Bottom Cover removed”:
