Leica D-Lux firmware v 2.10 has a bug in the French language selection

Leica has confirmed on Facebook what a LR reader already reported over the weekend:

“We have put the new D-Lux 4 firmware update since there still was a small mistake in the French menu. All other languages will not have the problem. We are presently working on a new, perfect version. Please excuse the inconvenience.”

The bug in the v2.10 firmware has been described as:

“when you select french language and choose the Lens Resume setting, everything freezes”.

I will update my D-Lux 4 tonight and will report more details on that bug. Other languages should be working fine.

I’m afraid that lots of other things freezes, because i tried to look at the WB braketing and it freezes too, I had to remove the battery several, because it got stuck each time i tried !
I was about to never use the WB bracketing, but it is a bug apparently.
I am relieved that i did do something wrong while updating the camera.
Otherwise, the D Lux 4 is working fine, and it is fun to have a square format !
I love this piece of jewelry.

I think I may have found a bug in the English version. When I shoot in RAW and 1:1 aspect, I am unable to do anything with the image files. I can see the picture on the camera’s screen, but once I move them to my computer they appear corrupt. Further, I am unable to modify the files on the camera either. This includes changing the aspect, adding a title or some text, or changing the resolution. All of these functions give an error that they can not be performed on this file. However, when I shoot in 1:1 on JPG, everything is fine.

It looks like Leica has pulled the upgrade off of their site. Users over at DPR are saying 1:1 troubles, plus low light indoor autofocus issues. Glad I waited on it. I wanted to ensure it was not buggy before installing. Then again, the camera is just fine “as is” for me and I may not eve istall it after the fixes come through.

    Happy Holidays Everyone!
