in the uk, it’s is confirmed to be £4900 , and if the dealers give any discount, you can expect it to be £4800. this is THE news. enquire elsewhere and see if you can get any lead.

The M9 is understandably “unexciting” for so many reasons: high price (can anything with the red dot on be called “cheap”?), look like—duh—an M8, as has any M cameras before and after, tried technologies (FF is nothing new in the digital world). The X1 is potentially more affordable so it’s ok that people are driven toward it.
For the enthusiast, nothing more mysterious and feel in the hand like an M. I will go for it anyway.
M9 for me, i held back at buying the 8 because of crop, and i do want a digital M.
Naomi, please stop bragging about your sources, i bet you would be in a much better relation with the admin here if you would be more polite and contacted him privately about the leaks.

Sorry but Naomi is right. Admin goes for a cheap news article because it’s got to be flowing these days with the imminent announcement. It’s all about getting hits on the website, and the more X1/M9 news the more hits. I can’t blame admin for wanting to make money but the other commentators should get a clue and a brain.

I am all new to this Leica digital thing. What are people doing with these cameras? Seriously, I don’t know and that’s why I am asking … just to learn something new.
Unless the X1 turns out to be an interchangeable lens system, and takes M mount lenses, then I’m not impressed. Why pay Leica prices for a dead-end system?
