Even point and shoot cameras are pretty complex these days.

If you a DSLR owner, you must have know the tedious in bringing the camera around. But, Leica Dlux series (Dlux 4 and Dlux 5) gives you all the DSLR camera features with the compact camera size! That is weird that we still have to get a book on the use of the camera, knowing that we will only use 10 % of what is available !
One reason why I LOVE my Leica M8 is that the menu goes only to the essential.
Not like these japanese nuclear factory cameras for which you must be an engineer in order to use it !
Okay, there are some stuff that can facilitate your life and having this kind of book may help you … as much as the manual that is given for free…. Good luck for the winner.
Last thing, ALL THE CAMERAS WORKS THE SAME PRINCIPLE : SPEED-F/STOP/ISO….I am just saying that to facilitate the use of the D-LUX 5

Given the additional software with the LX-5, this actually looks like a good alternative to the Panasonic version. I am seriously considering it as my P&S.
Awesome book.
I’m still baffled as to how “Leica” can justify charging 3x more for a minor software change and a red dot logo away from a Panasonic LX-5.
