Another Leica factory visit post from Luminous-Landscape

A quick recap of the latest Leica factory visit post from Luminous-Landscape:

  • Leica Camera to move to its new 25,000 square meter home in Wetzlar in 2013. The new facility will have gallery, show room, bigger factory floor which allow to double the current production capacity.
  • New 30mm f/2.8 lens for the S system will be out very soon.
  • 30-90mm zoom is also on the S system roadmap.
  • No more megapixels for the S system. Future models will concentrate on better noise and ISO performance, higher dynamic range.
  • I takes 8 hours to assemble an M9 camera.
  • There were some speculations about future Leica products, but nothing that was not covered before on LeicaRumors.
