Leica Noctilux DOF scale

The press image of the Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 lens (on the left) that is also uploaded on Leica’s website has the incorrect DOF scale. If the lens is set to infinity, the f/16 mark should point at 5 meters and not 10 meters. As you can see from the table bellow, the DOF in this case should be around 5 meters:

Leica Camera USA confirmed that their press image was taken of a prototype or produced from a computer rendering. If you own the Noctilux, there is no need to worry – your lens is not defective.
