Jun 19, 2013 -Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur has launched an interactive photography package in partnership with Leica.

Guests of the hotel will be able to capture the sights of Kuala Lumpur and experience the city through a different perspective with Leica Store Malaysia’s appointed professional photographer who will share his photography skills throughout a chauffer-driven excursion that encompasses the city’s cultural and iconic sites.

Sites include the Petronas Twin Towers – the tallest twin towers in the world, Kuala Lumpur Railway Station – established since 1910, The National Mosque – featuring a 73-metre-high minaret and a 16-pointed star concrete main roof and the Batik demonstration centre – one of Malaysia’s most prestigious handicraft centres.

Guests can gain valuable experience in the skills of photography in terms of colour, composition, lighting, texture, patterns and contrasts, and will be able to ‘take home’ a piece of Kuala Lumpur in the form of photographic memories.

Other photographic opportunities for guests to explore include views from the sky bridge that connects the iconic 88-storey twin towers, or an evening stroll through the tree-lined paths and flowering gardens of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park, or the nightly entertainment of the KLCC Lake Symphony Fountain at the Esplanade KLCC at 8, 9 and 10pm.

Unfortunately, while the specialist photography tips and advice are included in the promotion, guests won’t be able to use Leica’s latest and greatest – or even their entry level models, instead guests need to bring their own camera equipment. A missed opportunity by Leica, perhaps.

With a minimum of two consecutive nights’ stay, the package includes:

  • Daily breakfast for two at Mosaic
  • Complimentary room upgrade to a Premium City View Room or Deluxe Park View Room
  • Personal photography excursion with Leica Store Malaysia for two from 9am to 1pm
  • Chauffeur driven by a personal guide in a comfortable MPV
  • MO Lifestyle Programme with great savings at Suria KLCC’s participating boutiques

The Cultural Photography Journey is priced at MYR 1,875 for two nights luxurious accommodation.

Children above 12 years of age will be charged at MYR 419 per child including extra bed and all package benefits.

This offer is subject to 10% service charge and 6% government tax. The offer is valid through 1 June 2014 and a minimum of two night’s stay is required. Terms and conditions apply.
