Leica Virgin (Typ 1000) camera
This just in from LFI magazine:

Today, Leica Camera AG have announced a revolutionary new camera model: the Leica Virgin. At the heart of the innovative new concept is the unprecedented design of the viewfinder, which always displays the exact image you would achieve with a lens of any given focal length.

The viewfinder enables a stepless adjustment of settings from 24 to 135 mm (small format equivalent). Most remarkably, however, the Leica Virgin no longer requires the use of actual lenses, as the image files are stored neither on film nor memory cards. Instead, the files are recorded directly onto the appropriate areas of the photographer’s cerebral cortex. Simply select your image frame, blink once, and remember the scene – photography has never been easier.

Virgin Forever

“The Leica Virgin is undoubtedly the most accomplished Leica we have ever developed,” a statement from Wetzlar explains. “It is suitable for any type of user, and offers extraordinary longevity. Naturally, we are aware that for many, this completely new concept of photography will take some getting used to. For this reason we have opted for a very traditional body, and have placed the viewfinder in the same location that has always contained the most essential elements of image recording, both in digital and analogue photography.” Leica further emphasise the future-proof nature of the new camera. “This concept can never be bettered.”
