DESIGN

The Leica M-P (Typ 240) “Canada Edition” body features a striking silver chrome finish on the top cover and bottom plate, with a rich red cowhide leather enveloping the middle chassis. I would have bought it if it had a beaver fur skin, but cow hide?

Fascinating that Leica hides the fact that it’s a digital camera, so as not to tarnish the traditional luster of photography.

If you are going to buy this Leica M-P 150th Anniversary “Canada Edition”, you really should buy it in Canada – and my personal favourite Leica store in Canada is Camtec Photo aka The Leica Boutique Montreal. Camtec Photo is one of the oldest and most popular Leica dealers in Montreal. To say its owner Jean Bajardi is very knowledgeable about Leica would be an understatement …

As a plus, Camtec Photo – Leica Boutique is located on 26 Notre-Dame street east, right in the Old Montreal district, very close to Montreal City Hall and many other beautiful buildings with classical old world architecture. In other words, if you go to Montreal, bring your camera! Whether it’s a Leica or not (we’re very open minded in Montreal … 😉

P.S. For the record, I have no link whatsoever with Camtec

    • I agree, the Leica Boutique Montreal is also a sponsor of this site 🙂
