6×7 Leica Gallery in Warsaw announced a creative photography contest with the title: “Has the Eagle landed?” referring to the first landing on the Moon (we will celebrate 50th anniversary of this event on July 20th). The prize is a Leica Q2 camera:

Creative photography competition: 6x7AWARD 2019 “Has the Eagle landed?”

Half a century ago, on July 20th, 1969, “The Eagle has landed!” – People conquered the Moon!

Or maybe not?

Over the past five decades, the story of the mission of Apollo 11 has become “the mother of all conspiracy theories.” Thousands of people and organizations (including entire nations) denied the fact of landing on the Moon. Today, the history of this negation is even more exciting for some, than just landing on the Moon.

For the 50th anniversary of the first flight to the Moon, 6×7 Leica Gallery Warsaw (www.leica-gallery.pl) presents this summer an exhibition of the German photographer, Thomas Herbrich, entitled “The Truth about the Moon Landing” (read more about the project).

“Why do we believe in pictures more than in words?” – asks Thomas Herbrich, introducing his version of one of the most important events of the 20th century.

Did people reach the Moon? We know Herbrich’s opinion. Now we are asking YOU!

Together with our partners – Łódź Film School (filmschool.lodz.pl), Acadamy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (www.asp.waw.pl) and with support of Leica Camera (www.leica-camera.com) we announce a creative photography competition: 6×7 AWARD 2019 “Has the Eagle landed?”

Try to answer question above, using photographs (up to five) or a short film (up to 15 seconds). Everyone is invited, and everything is allowed – you can use any technique, send real or fictitious stories, create real or manipulated pictures, prove or deny landing on the Moon. Everything depends on you. Original idea and creativity will count most! But remember: we want to have fun, and we want you to have fun too!

The competition will be short – the projects will be accepted for one month only (from June 12th till July 12th, 2019). All information and regulations can be found at www.6x7award.com. You can also upload your project via this website.
