More information on the upcoming Leitz M6 film camera reissue

Yes, you read the title correctly: the upcoming/rumored M6 film camera will have a “Leitz” red dot instead of the regular “Leica” logo engraving. This is a tribute to the early Leica M6 cameras that came with a Leitz logo (see more listings here):

Based on the above rumors, I assume the new Leitz M6 will be “Classic” and not TTL.

Next, let’s talk about the potential price of the Leitz M6 camera reissue. As you can see in the link above, old Leica M6 cameras are currently selling for around $2k-$3k based on condition. I also stumbled upon this Reddit discussion reporting that the Leica Wetzlar Store is currently selling a refurbished black Leica M6 Classic camera for €3,800 (around $3,738) with a 2 years warranty. The Leica MP is currently listed for $5,695. Based on this, I think the upcoming Leitz M6 reissue will be priced in the lower $4,000 range (cheaper than the MP as previously reported).
