Leica L-mount lens rumors: 100-400mm, 105mm, and teleconverters

Here are the latest Leica L-mount rumors:

Leica 100-400mm lens for L-mount

Leica is rumored to announce a new 100-400mm lens for L-mount. The lens will be made in Japan, but I was told that it is not a direct rebrand of the Sigma version and will incorporate some elements/features designed by Leica. The price is expected to be around 2,500 $/€. The official announcement should be in Q1 of 2023.

Leica 105mm lenses for L-mount

Leica will announce a few more Japan-made lenses for L-mount, including a new 105mm f/2.8 macro lens (see the Sigma 100mm f/2.8 lens for L-mount). Another possibility is a Leica Summilux-L 105mm f/1.4 lens based on the existing Sigma version.

Leica teleconverter for L-mount

Leica is also rumored to announce their first Leica branded 1.4x teleconverter for L-mount that is going to be priced around 800 $/€ (see the Sigma L-mount teleconverters). Expected announcement: Q1 of 2023. A second 2.0x teleconverter is expected later in 2023.
