PIXII camera future upgrades

The French camera manufacturer PIXII sent this email to current owners regarding upcoming and future upgrades of their digital rangefinder APS-C camera (see previous PIXII coverage here):

After a year of development, we are now ready to reveal the next evolution of the Pixii camera. As a Pixii owner, you have been part of this journey and we wanted to let you know before we send the word out.

We listened to your feedback and this new evolution improves the most important aspects of the camera experience: speed and power efficiency. Pixii is getting a new 64-bit processor, a powerful smartphone heart. We think this is a significant upgrade.

More reactivity when shooting, more battery life on a single charge, more power for images. In a nutshell, Pixii is getting “Faster, Better, Stronger”!

But it’s not just the new Pixii, it is also your Pixii camera. With this third model we renew our commitment to hardware upgradeability. We will soon be proposing an upgrade service designed for current A1571 models.

The service will include the new processor module, a camera inspection, sensor & rangefinder adjustments and a warranty extension. We have sent the new boards to manufacturing and in January we will be able to process the first upgrades. We strive to design an interesting camera and also one you can consider investing into.

We will have further information in a few days so be sure to check our newsletter announcement. In the meantime, we have posted some news about the latest software release at: new-pixii-camera-software-update-5-10-10.
