New Leica Q2 firmware update version 5.0 with eye AF tracking listed on the Leica China website

There is a new Leica Q2/Q2 Monochrom firmware update version 5.0 with new eye AF tracking and other improvements currently listed on the Leica China website (still not available in other countries).

Here is what I could translate from the PDF file:

Improved:

  • Improved flash photography with Profoto devices
  • When using the zoom/lock buttons (AF-L, AF-L + AE-L, AE-L) to store measurements, focus and exposure settings remain locked until zoom/lock is pressed again button photo/video

New:

  • Adjusted firmware version numbers for Q2 and Q2 Monochrom
  • Autofocus ranging method Eye/Face allows selection of which eye is primarily focused

Expand:

  • Possibility to switch between photo and video modes via direct access
  • Autofocus operating mode (AFs/AFc) can be permanently set separately for photo and video modes error correction
  • Fixed various bugs in the firmware

I assume the update will be released worldwide next week.
