Where to get the best prices for your used Leica gear (in the US)

A few months ago I wanted to trade up/sale some of my old Leica gear. I contacted several US stores and here are the quotes I got:

KEH MPB B&H Adorama Leica Miami
Leica Elmarit-M f/2.8 ASPH 11606 $1273 $0 $900 $840 $1260
Leica APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 ASPH 11884 $1658 $710 $2400 $1610 $2310
Leica Summilux 50mm f/1.4 ASPH 11891 $1979 $1475 $2000 $1470 $2100
Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH 11879 $1768 $1700 $1300 $1190 $1750
Leica Super Elmar-M 21mm f/3.4 ASPH 11145 $1473 $1775 $1400 $1190 $1820
Leica M6 TTL 0.58 10475 $3625 $0 $2000 $1400 $2450
Leica M10-R black $3592 $4000 $3427 $3500 $3850
Total $15368 $9660 $13427 $11200 $15540

Here is my personal ranking based on the quotes I received (best on top):

  1. Leica Store Miami
  2. KEH
  3. B&H
  4. Adorama
  5. MBP

MPB provided the lowest quote for the gear I had – they did not offer anything for some of my lenses. The best quote I got was from Leica Store Maimi – I even got an additional bonus on top since I decided to trade in my gear instead of selling everything for cash. Leica Miami was also the only store that was very particular in getting the original purchase receipts, papers, manuals, accessories, etc. for all the gear they purchase. Keep in mind that I did all this a few months ago and the prices could be different today.

So you bought a bunch of cheap Chinese lenses fro Leica M-mount, and now you want to sell them? Here are some quotes I got a few months ago:

Price new

TTArtisan APO 35mm f/2 for Leica M

TTArtisan 50mm f/1.4 ASPH for Leica M

TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 ASPH for Leica M

7artisans 75mm f/1.25 for Leica M

7artisans 28mm f/1.4 for Leica M

TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 for Leica M

7artisans 10mm f/2.8 fisheye for Nikon Z

TTartisan 50mm f/2 for Nikon Z

The best choices (in my case) to sell Chinese lenses are:

  1. B&H Photo
  2. KEH
  3. MPB
  4. Adorama*

* Adorama did not provide me with an itemized estimate and insisted on shipping the lenses first before getting a quote. Again, I did all this a few months ago and the prices could be different today.
